About Us

Harry Cruden established his eponymous building business in 1943, and on his retirement wanted to ensure that his efforts to rebuild and contribute to communities across Scotland would continue for future generations. Consequently he bequeathed the ownership of his business to a newly established charity bearing his name: ‘Cruden Foundation’. Many years later, Cruden Foundation is still a shareholder in the business (now operating as Cruden Group across Scotland). The Foundation uses its income each year to support registered charities operating in Scotland. To date, the Foundation has distributed more than £8 million to many deserving causes, all with a view to providing public benefit, and benefit to society as a whole.
